Signed on the half-title page with a small sketch of a house adrift in an ocean. This image is taken from the title page illustration. The book is nearly fine with only very minor wear. The dust jacket has a 3/8" tear and associated crease to one upper corner. The crease runs along the top of the jacket about 4". There are several other small closed tears, none of which are more than 1/2". No Caldecott medal on jacket. A very nice, nearly fine copy of the book. No names, bookplates, etc. The dust jacket has a 3/4" ragged tear to the upper, front panel, between the T and H in "THE" in the title. There is some associated creasing and wear to this area. There are a couple of short tears and wear to the upper spine as well. There is a diagonal crease to the upper, front flap. Not price clipped. Laid in loose is a promotional print for the book that resembles the front of the dust jacket. It is slightly larger than the jacket and has his name printed on the lower margin, unlike the jacket. It is signed at the lower, right by Van Allsburg. There is wear and creasing to the upper edge, affecting the title, other minor edge wear. ; Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; A magical train ride on Christmas Eve takes a boy to the North Pole to receive a special gift from Santa.
